By creating an account, subscribing to any plan, or otherwise accessing FinishTheBook.ai, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to your registered address and/or displayed prominently on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

FinishTheBook.ai provides AI-assisted writing tools for fiction authors, including but not limited to: prose generation, beat sheet templates, series and character bible management, scene outlining, and genre-specific writing assistance.

The Platform is powered in part by the Anthropic API and other third-party AI services. We make no guarantee that AI-generated content will be free from errors, inconsistencies, or inaccuracies. All AI-generated content should be reviewed and edited by you before publication.

FinishTheBook.ai offers the following subscription options. All plans include full access to every feature on the platform — no tiers, no limits, no locked features.

All subscriptions include complete access to every FinishTheBook.ai feature including the writing editor, Belle AI companion, Quill autonomous agent, Launch Pad, ReaderVault, Shelf Presence, Visual Studio, and Business Dashboard. Prices are listed in USD. We reserve the right to change pricing with a minimum of 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Price changes do not affect active annual subscriptions until their renewal date.

All payments are processed through Stripe. FinishTheBook.ai does not store your credit card information. By subscribing you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

The Annual plan is billed as a single payment of $690 at the start of each subscription year. This represents a saving of $138 compared to twelve months of monthly billing — equivalent to two months free.

• Annual subscriptions are billed in full on the subscription start date and on each anniversary thereafter.
• Annual subscribers receive full access to every FinishTheBook.ai feature for the entire subscription year regardless of any feature additions made during that period.
• If you cancel an annual subscription you retain access to the Platform until the end of your paid subscription year. Annual subscriptions are not eligible for pro-rated refunds except where required by law.
• Price changes announced during an active annual subscription period do not take effect until your next renewal date. You will be notified at least 30 days before any price change affects your account.
• Annual subscribers may switch to monthly billing at their next renewal date by updating their billing preferences in account settings before the renewal date.
• If FinishTheBook.ai discontinues the Platform during an active annual subscription period we will provide a pro-rated refund for the unused portion of the subscription year.

You grant FinishTheBook.ai a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license solely to store, display, and process your content for the purpose of providing the service to you. This license is revoked upon termination of your account.

We will never use your manuscripts, writing, or story content to train AI models, share it with third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond operating the Platform for your benefit.

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of your work. While we implement robust data protection practices, FinishTheBook.ai is not liable for any loss of content due to technical failure, though we will make commercially reasonable efforts to prevent such loss.

FinishTheBook.ai offers an optional adult content feature designed for authors writing explicit romance, erotic romance, and dark romance fiction. This feature is activated on a per-project basis: you opt in by setting a project's heat level to Spicy or Explicit during project setup or in the project settings. Projects at heat levels Sweet, Warm, or Steamy do not access adult content generation, and adult content remains inactive by default until you choose a heat level that enables it.

By activating adult content features on a project (by selecting Spicy or Explicit heat), you agree to the following:

• You are at least 18 years of age.
• You are accessing the Platform from a jurisdiction where adult written fiction content is legal.
• Content generated through the adult tier is for creative fiction writing purposes only.
• You will not use adult content features to generate content involving minors in any sexual or romantic context. Any such attempt is a permanent and immediate grounds for account termination and may be reported to appropriate authorities.
• You will not use adult content features to generate content that depicts non-consensual scenarios presented approvingly, real identifiable persons, or content that violates applicable laws.
• AI-generated adult content is produced using third-party models that have been configured for adult creative fiction. You acknowledge that the availability of this feature may depend on the policies of our AI providers and may be modified or discontinued.
• Adult content generated through the Platform is intended solely for your personal creative and commercial writing projects. You are responsible for ensuring any published content complies with the content policies of any publishing platform you use, including Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.

You agree to use FinishTheBook.ai only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Platform to generate content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or that incites violence against real persons or groups.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying AI models or Platform code.
• Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple users to access a single account simultaneously.
• Use the Platform to generate content that infringes the copyright or intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Attempt to circumvent, hack, or interfere with the Platform's security measures.
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the Platform beyond normal use.
• Misrepresent AI-generated content as entirely human-written where disclosure is legally required.

Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, at our sole discretion, without refund.

We take the privacy and security of your data seriously. Our full Privacy Policy, available at [finishthebook.ai/privacy], governs how we collect, use, and protect your personal information and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

In summary:

• Your manuscripts and creative content are stored encrypted at rest.
• We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
• We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data storage and secure HTTPS connections.
• You may export all of your content at any time through your account settings.
• Upon account deletion, your content will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
• If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under GDPR which are described in our Privacy Policy.
• If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA which are described in our Privacy Policy.

FinishTheBook.ai is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate, inconsistent, or may not meet your expectations. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and taking responsibility for any content you publish using the Platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FinishTheBook.ai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Platform.

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total amount paid by you in subscription fees in the three months preceding the claim.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to the Platform and your content until that date.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. In cases of serious violations (including the zero-tolerance policies outlined above), termination is immediate and no refund will be issued.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in [YOUR STATE].

You waive any right to participate in class-action lawsuits against FinishTheBook.ai.
